As the winter chill sets in, it is important to give your skin some extra TLC. The colder months can be particularly harsh on our complexion, leaving it feeling dry and tight. Worry not, my friend. We curated a guide that will help your skin stay as soft and supple as it did when you had the summer glow.
HYDRATION IS A PRIORTY
The key to battling winter dryness is hydration from the inside out. We cannot stress more how your body NEEDS water. Increasing your water intake has benefits for your body such as improving your skin tone, promotes faster healing, and stop skin itchiness before it starts. Not a big fan of water? Dress your water up with fruits. Adding foods like watermelon, cucumbers, and oranges makes for a less boring water. Remember, hydrated skin is happy skin!
USE A GENTLE CLEANSER
It is time to swap out your regular cleanser for one that is hydrating and sulfate free. Using harsh chemicals over time can strip away your skins' natural oils which leaves you with drier skin. Look for ingredients such as Glycerin and a natural oil such as Jojoba Oil. Our Botanical Facial Cleanser is great for locking in moisture and gently getting rid of dirt, debris and gunk left on your skin from the day.
LAYER IT UP
During Winter, do you layer on your clothes to stay warm? Let's give our skin the same energy. Our skin needs layers of protection against the environment. Our favorite moisturizing layers after cleansing is adding a hydrating facial toner such as Rosey Me Toner. This toner has a Rose Water base that is great for soothing and protecting. Then layer on a moisturizer. Our Aloe So Soothe Moisturizer uses Sunflower Oil as barrier to keep all the moisture in.
SEAL THE DEAL WITH OILS
If you do not have any oils in your skincare routine, you are missing out such great benefits. It is true our skin create its own special oil that it unique to us, but adding ingredients such as Rosehip Seed Oil and Sweet Almond can be a game changer. These oils easily penetrate the skin, relieving your skin from dryness and itchiness. Our Rose Almond Facial Oil has both and can even be used on oily skin.
